The Office Collar

I was digging around Download.com for freeware for defragging my Windows registry when I came upon this article. I answers the question of what to do if you're unable to concentrate at work. The "Office Collar" was designed by Simone Brewster (Link:http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/archives/2007/04/random-internat.php). Having observed that people working in open office space are constantly distracted by visual stimuli, she suggested they wear one of her collars.

Do you know someone in your office that could use this?[Cat?] Can you picture yourself or someone else in your office wearing one of these? Can you picture your boss?

Polaroid phases out film production

It would seem that Polaroid, known for photographic prints that develop within moments, is getting out of the film business. According to this article from Boston.com, the company is shutting down production plants and has already halted production of many of their instant cameras.

With the advent of better and more powerful digital cameras and mobile phone camera technology, traditional optical/film photography (even the Instamatic kind) is slowly fading away. Photography supply companies are all trying to adapt to the new technology, but as we all know, "Technological Darwinism" is a cruel and ruthless mistress to those who are not nimble enough to meet her standards..

If you're a fan of the Polaroid film, I'd suggest you start hoarding film for your camera. Once they are gone, the only place you'll see them is in museums or in digital pictures within encyclopedic/historic entries in some wiki about old technology.

Blogging on the Go

It's taken a while but I think I have finally managed to get the right mix of online tools to properly blog on the go.

Before, Blogger.com would only allow text to be sent in from phones but now it seems that pictures can now be processed. (As seen in the post before this one). I have also set my Utterz account to post here for voice blogging. I have even added my Twitter badge on this page to let people know what I'm up to.

I'll play with this combination for a little bit and I will try to post in more detail my observations about these services as I use them.

Code Monkey AMV

I am a big fan of Japanese animé. Here's an Animated Music Video using footage from the show Black Heaven paired with the song Code Monkey by Jonathan Coulton. As a "code monkey" myself, I can say that this video rocks.

It's Alive

After years of letting my blog gather dust, I decided to grab the duster and see if I could bring it back.

I deleted all the old postings that was bloating up my server. I considered it a digital/mental cleansing of old memories that once was amusing but are now completely moot. I want to bring about a clean, fresh start with this blog.

I am also placing these blog postings on a different part of my server and give it a different subdomain. This should help me tame the chaotic files that have been arbitrarily posted by Blogger.
